Are all your flags and flag poles American Made??

Yes, they are!! Flags by Susan only uses American manufactures to make their Custom flags, Attraction Flags, Banners, Flag Poles, U.S./ State Flags, etc. Our company believes in performance from their products and expects nothing less from our manufactures…if you buy a product from us you know it is quality!!
How long does it take to receive my new attraction/custom flags?
Most of the time our flags are shipped within 5 to 7 working days. Although, sometimes with high volume times of year it may take a few days longer. March, April, and May are considered high volume months due to the amount of orders we are receiving during this time. We will always get your order out as quickly as we can. As for Custom Artwork flags, (Logo and Custom design flags), these are first come first serve. Digital Prints have been running 7 to 10 days when Screen printing and Ink Jet can run up to 2 to 3 weeks. Again, this depends on the time of the year and volume ahead of your order.

How long should a flag last?
There is no definite answer to this question. How long any flag will last depends on the weather, its location, airborne contamination and how often you fly your flag.
Remember, your flag is a piece of cloth that works very, very hard. Throughout its lifetime your flag shakes, trembles, drapes, snaps, chafes, bakes, freezes, ripples, flutters, furls, twists, flaps, strains, flies, unfurls and hangs! Is it any wonder that a flag that flies continuously needs replacing two or three times a year?
Wind, water, sun and carelessness are the major enemies of a flag. No one can control the weather but you can take some important steps to lengthen the life of your flag. Occasionally washing your flag in warm detergent water will prevent pollutants and dirt from weakening the fabric. Always let your flag dry thoroughly before storing it to prevent mildew or color transfer. At the first sign of fraying, have your flag repaired before further damage is done. Always keep your flagpole as clean as possible and move your pole if your flag does not have adequate room to fly unobstructed.
How do I see the colors of the flags before I order them?
Flags by Susan has a state of the art color chart software for you to create your perfect flag. How does it work? Just a few clicks of the mouse and you will have the colors and style customized just for you. Here is how you do it.
1) Select the style of the attraction flag you would like to order — example: Vertical Attraction Flags , Feather and Flutter flags, or Horizontal Attraction flags.
2) Select the number of colors and style you would like to see — example: Solid Color Feather and Flutter Flag, Two Color Vertical Split, or Three Color Horizontal Split.
3) Click on the link of the flag style you would like to order, this will take you to the check out screen. (You can back out of this screen at anytime to try another flag if needed.)
4) You now will see the flag style in a template (no colors). Click on the lower right side boxes to indicate the colors available to you for each color section.
5) When you have created your perfect flag just click order…if you need other flags along with this order, continue shopping and your complete order will be sent to us when done.
When I see “This item does NOT ship FREE“, what do I do and how much are shipping costs?
Flags by Susan does not make money on shipping….because of this we do not know what the exact shipping will be until the order is placed. If you need actual shipping costs when ordering, we will call our manufactures with your address and get an accurate cost for you. We often can get estimated shipping costs on the day of the order if you need them for approval. Many times the cost of shipping flags is under $14.00, but could be more depending on the type of flags and distance they needs to go. All flag poles unless already calculated, will be followed up with an actual shipping cost before the order will be shipped. In this case we will notify the client via e-mail of the costs and get approval before the product is sent out. Shipping costs do vary depending on the product weight, fuel pricing, shipper used, and distance of the delivery.
I have receive my flags and the colors look different, what do I do?
Not that this happens often, but the color chart used is as accurate as possible to the actual fabric. Sometimes, depending on your browser and/or monitor colors may vary somewhat. Please remember that Flags by Susan custom makes every attraction flag per your order. Therefore, many times depending on the style and color you have chosen, the flag can not be returned. If you have questions or concerns please give us a call, we maybe able to send you a sample of the fabric itself before you order (please see the return policy if you have other questions or feel free to contact us).
What is the difference between “Pole Sleeves” and “Header and Grommets” when ordering my new flags?
This is the biggest question that we receive….let us explain the difference. Does the flag hang on a rope? If so, it would be a “Header and Grommet” flag. Does your flag slide over a pole? If so, this type would be a “Pole Sleeve” flag. Most of our flags will be sent out via “Header and Grommets” due to this being the most popular style of flagpole used. Feather/Flutter flags can be either style depending on your poles installed. We have offered both selections for you on these type of flags, although it is offered on all attraction flags. If you do need a pole sleeve, our sleeves are commonly a 3? sleeve to accommodate a Wonder or Flex pole. If you do need a “Pole Sleeve” flag with a larger sleeve please note this in your order or feel free to contact us.
Why does the website run slowly on my computer and cannot get images?
Because of all the information that our website offers, you maybe encountering some “slowness” when going from one page to another. This problem seems especially cumbersome for users with the browser ‘Internet Explorer’. Knowing this is one of the most popular browsers, we are working on this issue. Our suggestion until the issue is remedied would be to try ‘Foxfire’ or ‘Google Chrome’ when using the website. This will allow you to move about the site and open links quickly. For those who are experiencing trouble with the color charts and/or picking colors, please check you security level. This maybe preventing you from opening windows within the website.
What are your artwork requirements on Custom Artwork Flags?
This is a great question that we need to give you a good clear answer for. Our artwork requirements are as follows:
All jobs must be vector. This means that the files must be comprised of outlines and not pixels. All lettering within files must be converted to outlines also so as to avoid font confusion. Acceptable file types include: AI and most EPS files.
If you need assistance on the files above please let us know.
How do I choose a flagpole? Will they hold up under on an extremely windy day?
We are here to help answer those questions. Feel free to contact us and we’ll help you find the perfect flagpole for your flag choices, for your budget, and for the environment the flag must fly in.
Also see our Recommended Flagpoles page that includes general information, a wind chart and details on which flagpoles stand up to your environment!
I see that your flags are constructed with DuPont SolarMax™…what exactly does that provide me?
In a word, quality!
DuPont SolarMax
Flags and banners made with DuPont SolarMax™ have inherent weather- and UV-resistance properties that last. Most people prefer the snappy way in which these flags “fly” — a snap that polyester or other fabric blends don’t provide. DuPont SolarMax™ ensures them an extra long — and colorful — life.
How do I bookmark your site and/or save an icon to my desktop that links to your site?
To bookmark us is easy! Most browsers allow you to hit CRTL-D on any page and that page is bookmarked! We recommend bookmarking our home page www.FlagsBySusan.com. If you are using Internet Explorer, go to our home page and click on the link on the left-hand side under “Bookmark Us”.
To save a page as a shortcut / icon on your desktop is also easy…but somewhat different between different browsers. Ever notice that little picture next to the URL where you can enter the URL? Ours looks like:
http://www.flagsbysusan.com
You can drag that onto your desktop and now you have a shortcut! (Click on it with the left mouse button, holding down the mouse button, while you drag to the desktop and then release the mouse button.) Remember to do it from the home page…if you do it from this page, you will have a shortcut to the Frequently Asked Questions page! It works on most browsers (but alas, not all). If you are using Internet Explorer, sometimes that little picture doesn’t show up consistently. It may be a blank, it may be the IE logo. You can still drag it to the desktop and it still works.
